Having worked with us before, these clients had a pretty good idea of what they wanted for their summer home's landscape. Their main goal was to create a low-maintenance backyard with gathering spaces for their kids and grandchildren to enjoy. With such a small yard, they wanted to make the most out of every inch and create an Asian-themed style with plants that gave pops of color and would fill in throughout the years.
While projects in small spaces aren't new for our crews, they always bring unique challenges. With this residence inside a small neighborhood community, it took special coordinated efforts for equipment to get into the tight space without causing damage. To make the construction process even more complicated, a utility easement directly behind the property was so close that our crews had to be especially careful of nearby sewer, water, and electrical lines.
Our designers carefully ensured every square inch of space was used effectively without overcrowding the yard. The proximity of the utility easement meant they were restricted on the water feature's size and layout, so our designers worked to ensure the final product was satisfactory for both permitting requirements and the homeowner's style.
Working through each challenge successfully, our crews completed the project within budget. The backyard includes each element our clients requested: a patio, fire pit, lounge area, core-drill water feature focal point, synthetic grass, and all-season hot tub space with a covered structure and custom towel holders. Hints of floral color and plenty of Asian-themed plantings complete the look, and the final project is one our clients are thrilled to enjoy for many years!
